Turno 1:

  • Mi jugada: Deoxys-Attack vs. Mew. Knock Off para eliminar su Life Orb.

  • Resultado:

    • Life Orb eliminado.

    • Mew usa Dark Pulse (90.1% de daño). Deoxys cae.

Turno 2-3:

  • Cambio a Crabominable.

Turno 4:

  • Spiritomb entra, usa Will-O-Wisp para quemar a Mew.

  • ¡Sorpresa! Mew tiene Synchronize: ambos quedan quemados.

Turno 5-7:

Análisis: ¿Debí cambiar a Kilowattrel antes? Probablemente. ¿Lo hice? No.

TURNO 8-10: KILOWATTREL Y LA ESPERANZA FUGAZ

Turno 8-9:

  • Kilowattrel usa Hurricane (18% de daño), Mew cae. ¡Alivio!

MY DEFINITIVE POKÉMON SHOWDOWN BATTLE: CHRONICLE OF A FORETOLD DEFEAT

Hey @GeekZone folks, Jorge here. Today I bring you a battle so epic even the RNG cried. Ready to laugh, cry, and question your life choices?

screenshoot

Before the battle, I must confess my first mistake: a team built at 3 AM between coffee and nostalgia. Here's the technical breakdown:

  • Deoxys-Attack: Glass cannon with 180 Attack. Perfect for getting one-shotted.
  • Crabominable: Slower than a Snorlax in winter, but with a promising Ice Hammer.
  • Spiritomb: My psychological "wall" with Will-O-Wisp and Pain Split.
  • Kilowattrel: The unexpected hero with Hurricane and U-turn.

⚡ TURNS 1-3: THE ILLUSION OF CONTROL

Turn 1:

  • My move: Deoxys-Attack vs. Mew. Knock Off to remove its Life Orb.
  • Result:
    • Life Orb removed.
    • Mew uses Dark Pulse (90.1% damage). Deoxys falls.
  • Critical mistake: I forgot Mew could carry Dark Pulse (and it was Special-oriented!).

Turn 2-3:

  • Switch to Crabominable. Ice Hammer misses (that 10% chance!), Mew uses Psychic (59.6% damage).
  • Technical note: Ice Hammer has 90% accuracy, but in Showdown, that equals 50%.

💀 TURNS 4-7: SPIRITOMB'S MARTYRDOM

Turn 4:

  • Spiritomb enters, uses Will-O-Wisp to burn Mew.
  • Surprise! Mew has Synchronize: both get burned.

Turn 5-7:

  • Pain Split recovers some health, but Mew keeps using Fire Blast.
  • Damage calculation:
    • Fire Blast: 24.4% damage + burn.
    • Leftovers recovers 6.25% per turn.
    • Result: Spiritomb falls by Turn 8.

Analysis: Should I have switched to Kilowattrel earlier? Probably. Did I? No.

TURNS 8-10: KILOWATTREL AND FLEETING HOPE

Turn 8-9:

  • Kilowattrel uses Hurricane (18% damage), Mew falls. Relief!
  • But... opponent sends out Cryogonal (resists Flying!).

Screenshot 4 (Kilowattrel vs. Cryogonal):

Turn 10:

  • Discharge isn't enough. Cryogonal survives and counters with Freeze-Dry.
  • Game over: I lose with Cryogonal at 10% health.

POST-MORTEM: 3 LESSONS LEARNED

  1. The Deoxys-Attack problem:
    • Without Focus Sash, it's unviable. Next team will use Deoxys-Speed.
  2. The 90% accuracy curse:
    • Ice Hammer, Hurricane... if it's not 100%, it's 50%.
  3. Spiritomb isn't that tanky:
    • Pain Split + Leftovers sounds good on paper, but not against special attacks.
