Hey everyone!

In today's video I want to talk about how I think posting on DTube/Steemit is like playing a computer game!

I started drawing the comparisons pretty quickly. I'm not sure if it's because I've spent quite a bit of time playing MMOs like World of Warcraft and Dungeon Crawlers like Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, or it's because there's a pretty direct correlation between the two, but I really think posting on DTube is like playing a computer game.

First off you have your Reputation Score. In an MMO like World of Warcraft, as you progress through the game, your reputation will rise and fall with certain factions. Here, it just keeps going up, up, up!

Second we have Steem Power (SP). This is like your character's main attribute that makes you stronger. I always like to play melee classes, so for me I think of it as strength. If you were a caster, it could be your intellect.

Third we have Steem Backed Dollars (SBD). This is like the in-game gold, or currency. We can trade this around and use it to buy items (or services here on Steemit!)

Fourth we have Upvote Strength. I think this is just like your character level. Right now when my upvote strength is at 100%, I can upvote $0.03, aka level 3! If I could upvote for a full $1.00, my level would be level 100!

Fifth we have Community Interaction. - This is just like interacting and playing with other players in game. (Comments and Discord)

Sixth we have Estimated Account Value - This is what we'd be able to sell our accounts for if we decided to cash out and leave the community. (Not gonna happen! ;))

Seventh we have Your Content - Producing your content is like completing a quest, which grants you all sorts of rewards, like gold (SBD), attributes (SP), reputation (upvotes), community interaction (comments), etc.

And finally, we have Discord Channels - I forgot to mention this one in the video, but this is like being part of a clan or a guild!

These are all the obvious comparisons that I could come up with today that correlate Steemit/DTube to be just like playing a video game, but this version is kind of like the old D&D method where we're playing with dice and paper (but actually using the web browser).

I love having this perspective and making things feel like a computer game. It makes the whole process of being an active poster and part of this community so much more fun.

It would be so cool to start a website that was linked to your Steemit account, but had the interface of a character that you could level up and increase all the attributes. This could be a million dollar idea!! And here I am sharing it with you all. :P

What do you guys think of this over at @DTube? Maybe something fun could be made out of this...! :D

Hope you all enjoyed this connection I've made! Let me know what you think about it in the comments! Who wants to start building this website with me? :D

Have a great day everyone!
