Hi Steemians! My Tall Happy Jamaican contender for the Solo Cup Challenge has been growing well, up until today.
Around 4:30 pm PST, I got a call from my wife, @loryluvszombies. She informed me that our 1 year old baby boy had ripped up my plants. I asked her which ones, and she said the two in the Solo cups. There was another plant, a Dj Short Blueberry male that is being used to create a fork with my Steem Og, to create Smoke.og was untouched. But the two plants where the Steem Solo Contender, and the other was the Smoke Solo Contender.
I was really relieved to discover both plant's where still intact along with the root ball.
I was able to put the plant back into the Solo cup, but before I did that I trimmed my roots. Fellow Canna member Toker shared some info on how to get the most out of your plant in a Solo cup, that by trimming the roots that are bound togeter will help a plant grow big in 12 ounces of space!
As you can see it this plant needs a bigger pot! If it was not for this contest, this Tall Happy Jamaican would be in a 1 gallon pot. But it is looking good so far.
I still will continue to veg this plant out under 24 hours of light. For now I will keep it far away from the light for a couple days to let it recover from the shock it experienced. Also I need to put up higher so my little one can reach them, if I put in sunlight for the portion of the day. No sex has shown, but since it has not, it is promising to be a female. I think a male would have shown himself already. But I never have grown this strain, and he or she could just be holding back on me for now. I know regardless I am happy the the show will go on, cause in order to win, you got to play!
