This is a very interesting topic that most people don't care about as they are entertained with what is given by their patrons, governments, dictatorships, tyrannies and all the alikes. If people, if the world knew how important is the accuracy, the criteria of the information we consume, the world absolutely would be a better place.
Information inspires, information forms character, information is suggestive, information can bias individuals, information can cause wars, information can stop wars, information ncan make you rich, information can make you poor, information provides knowledge, intelligence, but it also may provide ignorance, lies. We are what we consume, what we hear, what we see.
Is it important to have system that tries to process, and rate information, as accurately as possible. Absolutely yet more than it, it is the way we process information what should be taught. But how? It may subjective. It may be even utopic, that's why we need something neutral as science and the machines, yet again, machines are created by humans so in all ends up in human's hands.
It's ironic but is a matter of trust, too. The older we get, the less we trust. Experience, though good, it can be a bitch sometimes. Because most of humans don't even trust themselves that's why we need to check ✔️ double ✔️✔️ triple check ✔️✔️✔️ the information we consume. It's an endless chain that never stops, family values even enter the equation because we are taught to be entitled to believe and trust what our parents say until we get to a certain age where we can decide what's good and what's wrong, what's true and what's a lie, and not everyone has the capacity to adapt and finally know themselves, really know themselves like to discover their truest character, their truest persona.
We are empty vessels trying to find our own identity, some manage to find it, some expend a lifetime without finding themselves, being someone else.
With the emergence of internet and big tech companies increasing their pockets, it's way easier to manipulate masses, heck they do it since the day we born. In cartoons, commercials, tv shows, movies, etc.
They are selling us, imposing us diversity, and make not mistake, there's nothing wrong with diversity but that must be optional! Not imposed, not suggested.
I believe in the scientific method but I also believe in individual instinct and also in empirism.
"Rating based on domain expertise"
This really caught my attention and reminds to Socrates and his opinion about democracy. Yet again the human factor comes into play because intelligence is one thing but that doesn't defines if a person is good or bad, it's just a skill; more than that. It's the way we use our intelligence, at what is aimed.
I don't really trust consensus because most people are ignorants (myself included)
I'm eagerly waiting to see more of this.
Heck I think I extended myself, this looks like a post itself.
Best regards and keep on the good fight.
