**The 'S' Word'**

Hi Friends,

Things are getting very real! Today I have a meeting where we will be thrashing out the structure and formation of our new venture.

This scares me a little because everything is becoming real, very fast!  The 'S' word suddenly got let out the bag and I'm talking about 'Shares'.

I have been thinking quite a lot about what shares symbolise.  On one level they define ownership, on another level they define value but in both cases, getting this right at the start is pivotal.

There are many things to consider but what strikes me is that it formalises a relationship.  Just like any relationship, defining the ownership structure of a business sets it up to fail or succeed.

Today I will be setting out a model for ownership and hopefully it all goes swimmingly.
