A couple things...

I don't think new steem can thrive with the old name though. The steemit name is pretty much trash everywhere outside of here. That is why I think the ideas proposed in the EIP need to wait for an SMT and communities. Then they can try all sorts of different economics in each one and find which ones seem to work, and the people in these communities don't even have to know it is running on steem or has an relation to steemit.com!

Creating more toxicity by increasing the frequency of downvotes likely doesn't work with old steem or in a new steem with new users though.... wouldn't you agree?
