This was kind of expected, in my opinion.

When you look at both teams' rosters...

It's obvious that France has better players.

No one can deny that.

And also when you consider Uruguay's best player got injured last game.

It's obivous why France was a big favourite in this match.

But, I cheered for Uruguay.

I watched few of their games...

And I liked them.

They don't have that much stars, but they play tough and with "heart".

Before this match, they only conceded 1 goal.

And it was a lot because of their great defence lead by Godin and Gimenez.

Two great centre-backs from Atletico Madrid.

And behind them, there was Muslera.

Who played a great tournament.

I'm really sad he made that mistake on the France's 2nd goal.

Game was pretty even, to be honest.

It's interesting that France had only 2 shots in the goal frame.

And they scored both of those.

Statistically, they were pretty even, too.

I wish Cavani hadn't injured.

The game would've been a lot more interesting, imo.

First goal was scored by Varane after a free-kick.

He scored a header at the end of the first half.

2nd goal was an unlucky one.

Pretty unusual, but Muslera made a bad mistake.

Griezmann shot from 20+ meters right into Muslera.

And the ball changed direction a little bit, and Muslera couldn't retain it.

It went behind his back, and sealed Uruguay's faith.

France is procceeding in the semi-finals.

They are awaiting for the winner of Belgium - Brazil.

That game is being played right now.

And the score is 0 - 1 for Belgium.

This part of the bracket is loaded with great teams.

I excited to see who will get into finals.

We basically have 3 teams that were favourites for the gold medal.

And now, they are fighting for one spot.

It'll be really interesting, in my opinion.

If I had to make a bet, I'd say Brazil will go to the finals.

But first, they have to pass Belgium.

And Belgium has been one of the best teams so far.

Sure, they almost lost to Japan.

But, they have a great team, and have been playing great so far in the tournament.
