There is something I'd like to see with Steemit. I don't know if it's feasible to do, but I'm going to throw it out there and see, just in case.
I believe that everyone in the world should have a chance at Steemit. It's a great social network and should help many people and maybe even our economies. I do have a suggestion that, if it can be done, might help out some.
When I see an article that looks interesting, I'll click on it to read. Sometimes, as happened twice today, I find out that the person that did the story is not very proficient in the English language. I wanted to read the articles, but I just couldn't because you could tell that they just ran their language through a translator and copied exactly what it translated, and it didn't read very well. In addition to that, there were other words and sentences, that I assume they thought they knew, that were just wrong. One of the big ones was the confusion with "he" and "she" or "him" and "her". I know English is sometimes a demanding language and even many Americans can't or won't speak it correctly. It just makes it hard to read something that is not written, at least, close to right.
My suggestion is maybe there should be a sub-category or two for Steemers. For instance, in this case, the person that typed this could be in the category: English is not my first language and then a category below that, their language. Or maybe just have different languages categories. Maybe break it all into different countries or continents. Something to help centralize it better. That way you would know ahead of time what you were getting yourself into and it would help others find things in the language, group, interest, hobby, sport, style ... whatever. Maybe there are even some advantages to this that I don't see. Maybe there are things that make this impossible or improbable to do.
Like I said, I don't even know if any of this is possible. Maybe I'm the only one that it bothers, but I had to get it out there for debate. What are some of your opinions on this subject?
