I haven't been able to get out to play discgolf in quite a while. So yesterday, I cleared my head, assuaged my fears, and told myself...

You Can Do This

alt
You CAN take two kids to the park to play disc golf. Given their attention span and age, I figured I had at least 4 or 5 holes out of them.

They Wanted to Be Done after 2 Holes

alt

I made them stick to it for about 9-10 holes.

The oldest was pretty good. Has his own (terrible) throwing style that was actually working towards the end of the trek... The youngest couldn't throw for crap and by the third hole had quit throwing her disc and would just run to the basket and throw all the disks in.

I Never Missed a Putt

alt
I didn't really take one though...
They had fun walking the course, seeing the beach, and chasing the geese but after 5 holes they wanted to leave and were becoming quite vocal about wanting to just go over to the playground.

It was kind of like hearing "Are we the yet" 300 times on car rides.

alt

But the views of the course were worth it, I got in a couple good throws, reached my step count, and the kids got rewarded with some time on a new playground they've never been to before.

Verdict: I'l take them again. Maybe.
