Unfortunately, Catholic schools aren't always welcoming. I was really grieved t hear about your experience because I taught in Catholic schools and would always reach out to students who appeared to be loners. Catholic education aims at creating schools that provide an alternative to secular schools - they should be schools with a difference, but a difference in order to be a difference has to make a difference. In your case, they failed big time. You succeeded despite them. Good for you.
