Well, I think I know the artist and can reassure you that it was only his peculiar temperament. He didn't want feedback from the community but really only wanted to post his work. When I tried to engage him with comments about his art or technique he'd be very laconic and terse in his replies. I couldn't understand this since I wanted feedback from readers, but I suppose he was less interested in social media and more interested in simply promoting his work.
