Goes gray,
It breaks
As a lonely tide.
As bleak as my heart
Grieves now,
Wordless,
It withers inside.
Words are mere puffs
Of air,
But for the things
They mean,
Mute feelings
Without words,
Break like the waves
On the sea.
I have only letters
And sounds,
To touch you
And let you see,
The loveliness
Of your face,
That stirs such a surge
In me.
