Yes, I make poems
The way a carpenter
Builds homes—


Not delicate, but
Blunt hammering
Of Anglo Saxon;

Simple sturdy lines
That endure
The test of time

If they don’t get
Tossed away,

If I like them
Another day.

I’ll post them
And own them

The same way I’ve come
To accept my sins,

That I hope
You'll somehow forgive.
