― Ashly Lorenzana
But didn’t expect
To see a rebus
At the door…
An enigma,
A wraith
With nameless face
And it didn’t
Expect to see me—
A secret sea
Fraught
With vast discrepancies…
Opaque, blurry—
Motives hidden
From myself,
A dubious essence—
Elusive
As northern lights,
Or this presence.
And to what purpose
You might ask...
(}If you cared)
Well yes, I’m haunted,
More so
Than any rainy phantom.
It’s a hazard
Of who I am.
A writer
Occupying
A house of secrets—
Hiding
In a haunted,
Echoing edifice;
Waking at night
Sleeping at dawn.
I don’t deny it
But accept my lot...
Struggling with demons
That can’t be recalled—
Clouded by feelings
That can’t be resolved.
