I am not sure this is a big deal but some people believe it to be so.
The total marketcap of crypto now passes Apple's market cap.

I think it used to be a big deal. Something changed this year in regards to confidence in crypto. The best way I can describe it is it's got RESPECT/Street cred by the non-crypto crowd now.
