I think it's not that they don't hate Putin, it's that they've become disillusioned with western society. That's what happens when you demonize and censor one side. I also think a lot of them blame the Democrats for this mess by stopping drilling (energy independence) and allowing Russia to build a huge war chest before the invasion.
