He just did the right thing. Having the coin without and identified creator its good for the project. Imagine if he was known and he did something bad (hitting his wife). Lots of articles on internet, social network, everyone talking about this scumbag of a guy, and of course, Bitcoin will take a hit.
A very good example of this would be Ethereum with Vitalik as the creator (remember Ethereum classic)
