Recently, my friend @tattoodjay posted a rainbow fountain and asked, "Does this count as a rainbow?" Today I ask the same for a waterfall rainbow.

Vor kurzem hat mein Freund @tattoodjay einen Springbrunnen mit Regenbogen gepostet und gefragt "Does this count as a rainbow?". Heute frage ich das selbe bei einem Wasserfall Regenbogen.

Today I was at Boka Waterfall (Slap Boka), the highest waterfall in Slovenia. The waterfall is 136 meters high and is located near Bovec in the Soča Valley.
On the way back to the valley I was able to take this picture of the waterfall, where the morning sun painted a thick rainbow into the water. Is it a rainbow, or does a rainbow need rain?

Wikipedia says:
A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky.
Alternatively, an observer with the right vantage point may see the full circle in a fountain or waterfall spray.

So I would say it is a rainbow 😊

Ich war heute beim Boka Wasserfall (Slap Boka), dem höchsten Wasserfall Sloweniens. Der Wasserfall ist insgesamt 136 Meter hoch und liegt bei Bovec im Soča Tal.
Auf dem Rückweg ins Tal konnte ich unter anderem dieses Foto vom Wasserfall machen, wo die Morgensonne einen dicken Regenbogen in das Wasser gemalt hat. Ist es nun ein Regenbogen, oder braucht ein Regenbogen Regen?

Wikipedia sagt:
Der Regenbogen ist ein atmosphärisch-optisches Phänomen, das als kreisbogenförmiges farbiges Lichtband in einer von der Sonne beschienenen Regenwand oder -wolke wahrgenommen wird.
Unabhängig davon kann ein Regenbogen recht häufig in einem Sprühnebel beobachtet werden, vor allem bei Springbrunnen, Sprinklern und Wasserfällen.

Ich würde also sagen, es ist ein Regenbogen 😊
