If I have learned anything in all this time serving the Lord, it is that self-rejection detracts from your self-image and influences your emotional damage. Christ came to dwell in our hearts so that we learn to value ourselves as persons and to accept ourselves as true children of the kingdom of heaven.
17 so that Christ may dwell by faith in your hearts, so that, rooted and grounded in love, 18 you may be fully capable of understanding with all the saints what the width, length, depth and height are, 19 and of know the love of Christ, which exceeds all knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3: 17-19 New King James Version (RVR1960)
We cannot continue leading life by punishing ourselves and condemning ourselves for all our mistakes, defects and bad actions. We must be considerate of ourselves and avoid continuing to hurt our inner being. We must understand that since we accept Christ we are a new creation in the hands of God. We are a new design, which is being molded by the perfect potter who is Christ.
Don't keep looking at yourself in a mirror and pointing out your flaws, avoid hitting your self-image as much as possible with rejection of your words and negative self-gestures.
The word says that Christ is rooted in love in our hearts. This means that God has already forgiven and blotted out all our rebellions and mistakes. It is time to accept ourselves just as Christ decided to dwell with love in our hearts. Christ looks at us with love, sweetness and mercy. He knows that as humans we make mistakes, because he also inhabited a human body and knows all our weaknesses. However, he comforts us by saying that we can do everything in him, that he strengthens us.
The word says that Christ came so that we can have life, that is, so that we enjoy it and not so that we live condemning ourselves with rejections and contempt.
Do not continue living under the power of self-rejection. Christ loves you.
