Being freed from the burden of sins produces a deep immensity of joy in the heart. Psalm 32 is David's confession of his sin with Bathsheba.
He wrote it after his encounter with the prophet Nathan, and probably after spending time alone with God, in prayer and repentance.

If we give this psalm a title, a good one would be "The Joy of the Pedon." David writes:

Blessed is he whose transgression has been forgiven and covered his sin (Psalm 32: 1).

"Blessed" can be translated: How wonderful!

Sin blocks our communion with the Lord. It also prevents us from experiencing the goodness of God. David could not enjoy the sweet presence of God as long as he continued without repenting of his sin.

When you feel discouraged for having committed a certain sin again, turn to God in prayer. Ask him to apply his forgiveness to his life and receive his mercy. He loves him and wants to enjoy his company again.
