Faith is the powerful weapon of the Christian, through it the believer approaches God with all confidence. Through faith, the psalmist David led a life of victory as a result of his security in God.
Storms, problems and difficulties; They were moments and opportunities for the psalmist David to put his trust in God.
In Psalm 27: 1, King David makes "a powerful declaration of faith," which is an example to the people of God today.
The psalmist declares:
Jehovah is my light and my salvation; Who will I fear?
Jehovah is the strength of my life; Who will I be afraid of?
David spoke with firmness and confidence. He did not doubt anything, what God represented for him.
Light for the Hebrews represented the brightness of God's presence (Ex 20:10).
When David expresses that Jehovah is his light, he was certainly indicating that the presence of God was with him; That was a relevant reason not to fear the enemy, nor to adversity.
In the New Testament, Jesus says: "I am the light of the world, the one who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (Jn 8, 12).
The believer must know that in the interior of his soul is the glorious light of Christ, and that the presence of God is through the Holy Spirit.
Like David, the Christian must trust that Jehovah is his light. That is, the presence of God is continually manifested in his life, through the Holy Spirit.
David also said: "Jehovah is my salvation."
David's life was full of dangers, persecutions, adversities; He faced difficult moments in his life.
King Saul pursued him to death until he did not rest. The same happened with his son Absalom. However, in the midst of all these dangers, David always declared that: "Jehovah is my salvation."
These same words, you can declare today. No matter how many struggles, trials, persecutions, storms, dangers, shortcomings; or the most terrible desert he faces. Do as David does, declare that "Jehovah is your salvation, in the name of Jesus." Every problem is subject.
The end of King Saul and Absalom was death. The end of King David was death but, in his old age.
To conclude, the Christian has to speak with faith in the midst of difficulties. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Whoever approaches God must believe that God is at his side. Faith without work is dead; That is why the declaration of his victory is in his mouth.
