Today I'll be taking us on a tou ber of my visitation to OLUMO ROCK
OLUMO rock is an historical ancient rock located at Abeokuta Ogun State Nigeria
OLUMO ROCK is an historical ancient rock of the Egba People
It's used as a stronghold during the inter tribal war in the 19th century.
THE MEANING OF OLUMO
Olu in Yoruba is interpreted as God or deity
Mo in Yoruba is interpreted as moulded so that means it's a combination of two words.
Here we have our tour guide explaining some of the history of the OLUMO ROCK to us , he said there was a woman who died recently, she experienced the war, I then asked how old was the woman before she died, he then said she lived for 153 years.
From the right we have Mr Olorunleke Akintola Oluwasegun, the me in the middle Joseph Omodara Samuel and the last person on the left is Mr Victor Celestine.
With us are calabash of palm wine for refreshment as we climb the mountain.

For easy climbing, the did some stairs their , but note it was a very difficult mountain to climb back then that is why they did some stairs to enable tourist climb the mountain
This is a section of their hideout, if you check the picture very well, you will notice that there are some hole there, those holes are as a result of grinding pepper with stone on the mountain repeatedly for years while hiding out there.
