A teenager from a village in southern Tunisia......
offers to sell a three-month-old fennec fox......
one of a litter of pups..... he dug out of their den in the Sahara Desert!
FYI:
Catching or killing wild fennec foxes is illegal in Tunisia!!! but widespread......
But...Fennc foxes are an endangered species in the Sahara......
And this puts us in a dilemma.....
judging from the teenagers shoes....he did it to buy food for his family.....
on the other hand the species is going extinct!!!!
what a damn dilemma....as so often....with endangered animals......
then again.....do we want our children to look at animals from pictures in the future?....because they all went extinct....
anyway......enjoy a great picture!
