Fly As Free As A Bird
Dropping in to say good morning Grey-headed gull (Chroicocephalus cirrocephalus), landing gently next to another on wings of love, a gentle nudge as if to say you are my sunshine, on a beautiful winter morning.
High above calling love songs to each other African fish eagle (Haliaeetus vocifer) at play, winging playfully in thermals egging each along. Possible parents with a newly fledged youngster learning to drive those wings against high winds above.
Diving for food at days end, hovering which is a high energy consuming action, followed by plunge into pond, enjoying a treat before the sun goes down is the Pied kingfishers (Ceryle rudis).
While we contemplate how we mimic our wish to have wings, lets quietly watch a couple of birds in flight, how effortless they make it appear yet each feather must be in pristine condition at all times to face whatever the weather throws at them all year.
Thanks for enjoying with me, for all the effort put into hovering and fishing the Pied Kingfisher is the photograph entry to #SMAP No. 77
