Nice garden, yes older trees take a beating with heavy wind, rain and obviously snow dropping a branch or two. Hope the neighbour was not upset with you since nature does it's own thing.

Bamboo clumps are found here in some parks, not something we grow in gardens being sub-tropical they tend to take over.
