The second box of 1000 half dollars had seven 40% silver coins and nine S mint mark proof coins ranging from 1983 to 2009. They all appear to be clad coins but most of them are in great shape with nearly flawless, high shine backgrounds and a nice matt bust. One has some significant wear.
I always wonder where the proof coins come from as they don’t originate from regular circulation. Did they all come from the same person? We’re they part of a collection? Why did someone cash them in?
Well, however they made their way to me, they are in my collection now.
