Sitting at the dining table, I suddenly understood what home really meant because nothing sat well with me here.
I watched as my seniors randomly made side lame jokes about a junior eating pattern and quickly called out the other to engage in an unnecessary punishment or send a junior to do one thing or the other.
Not even considering if the person has eaten.

Well, it's now part of us to eat quickly, so I won't blame them for sending someone on useless errands.

The food eaten was something I could never eat at home.
It was much and tasteless, unlike other days, it could have been little.

At least I had to satisfy my hunger first but I couldn't because it tastes so bad.

I am still sitting here trying to force myself to finish my meal because the seniors would punish you if you don't.

"I want to go home," I cried deep down, but no one would certainly hear me here.

I am in a room filled with strangers, and even my classmates and friends wouldn't understand me.

I so much miss my parents and siblings by now, we could have been enjoying a great meal happily and could share how our day went while eating too.

This is not the dining table I grew up to know. This is different and not favourable to us juniors.
