I understand your dilemna in terms of working with yarn that you don't like. It takes so much effort, time and skill to knit a pair of socks that you want it to be something of value when you finish. Many years ago, one of my friends told me that I had a very well made cheap dress. She was a home economics teacher and she told me to never invest my time and skills using cheap material because in the end, you still just have a cheap garment. You make socks looks great no matter what type of yarn you use. :)
