I was able to buy a new switch for my pottery wheel. I found some electrical supplies at Walmart to reconnect the switch to the new motor.
It is very difficult to make electrical repairs without being able to go back and forth to the store to get what I need.
I was certain that everything would work out this time, even though the space inside the electrical box where my switch was housed was very small.
I was careful with my connections and I also wrapped the connections with electrical tape to make sure that everything was insulated.
When I put the cover back on the electrical box, however the new switch had terminals that were sticking out and I had to bend them to make them fit in the electrical box.
When I reassembled the motor back to the pottery wheel, and turned the switch on, there was a spark and then the pottery wheel did not turn on.
Obviously somethings shorted inside the electrical box when I bent the connectors down to replace the cover.
I can’t do this again right now. I am frustrated and I have no patience to continue to work on the same issue over and over without the appropriate materials.
I guess I will have to hand build my pottery projects until we are no longer asked to shelter in place.
Enjoy your day.
