I found a great deal on some backpacks and I decided to see if I could embroider on it. I have seen many personalized backpacks in schools but I didn’t know if my machine could handle the bulk.
Some items are more suited for multi needle machines which have an open arm instead of a flatbed.
I drew out guidelines with chalk on the backpack and then pinned it to the stabilizer in my magnetic hoop.
My biggest concern was whether the backpack would stay stable enough without moving while the machine while sewing.
It worked. I know that popular culture says do not put names on backpacks for children now because strangers can call them by name and make them think that they are familiar to them.
My grandchildren however, do not go anywhere without their parents present so I thought that this would be OK.
I wanted to add some type of graphic to but sometimes less is more.
