How are you doing, my friends from this fantastic "Amazing Nature" community? This week, I decided to conduct my "scientific" exploration in another "natural" space located on the outskirts of the city, not far from where I live.

This is a beautiful reserve where the flora and fauna of our province are preserved. It is a recreational space to visit with your family; beyond just enjoying a pleasant time close to nature, children can also discover the wild animals of this region of the world in their own natural habitat.
One bird that caught us by surprise is what they call a "forest chicken" (pollo del bosque):

The truth is that the space isn't actually very large; I believe the whole area covers a little over six hectares, including the section where the walkways and observation points were built. It wasn't the best day for a visit; by the time we managed to enter the reserve, it was about to rain, which meant we couldn't see all the animals that live here. We did, however, manage to spot some crabs and a yacare (caiman), which emerged from the lagoon's waters to welcome us.

While there are many plants throughout the area that are native to this region, the one that caught my attention the most is what we call here the "water poppy"—though, before continuing, I should clarify that this plant is often confused with the lotus flower. It is actually a different plant, and it is almost impossible to find it anywhere other than its place of origin, as it is considered endemic.

A bird that really surprised me when I encountered it is what we call an "aguapeaso" —known scientifically as "Jacana" —which is native to South America and is always found in wetlands. They are considered the guardians of marshes and lagoons; when they spot something that catches their attention, they begin to call out so loudly that all the other animals are put on alert. Honestly, it has been truly wonderful to have discovered this beautiful reserve.
