So I thought I would start a new... I guess you could call it a Series. I just wanted to take a few minutes and highlight some of the tools of the Lineman trade. The first tooI I am bringing to the job site is simply called, “The Press”. Yes, that is what we call it. Us Lineman like to use the K.I.S.S. model (Keep It Simple Stupid) quite frequently. It is actually a 6 ton battery operated press used to squeeze connectors together making a solid connection between two wires. This press gets use all the time. I failed to mention that you can remove the press head and install cutting blades to cut large wire. Now that is awesome!!
I took this video a while ago and for some reason totally forgot about it. Take a watch and see this press in action and also see the alternative tool whose place this battery operated press is taking.
