Welcome back everyone to another edition of A Day With A Lineman. Today I am going to give you all a little explanation of what a Substation is and What it does. Identify a few components and tell a little about them. I tried to use the best terminology for a simple explanation but I probably failed miserably. So feel free to ask questions.
I spent most of the day doing Substation Inspections. Which, for a guy like me, can get me a little stir crazy.
Check this...what is the reading on that?... verify this.....inspect that.... oh well it has to be done.
Again, please please do not attempt to enter these substations. You have no reason to be inside the fence nor do you have any permission. Many people have died by not obeying the signs that are placed all around these substations.
