Wow, reading your article made me mentally travel back to the year when my mother retired from teaching definitively... Those were very emotional months because of the great number of visits from students and really nice moments... Even today, she continues to receive visits from her former students and last December a former student of Syrian origin who had returned to the country of his ancestors more than 15 years ago and came back to visit his relatives in Venezuela was here at our home... He made time to visit his former teacher "Sara"!... It was a memorable moment!... The bond between teacher-student is perhaps one of the strongest that develops between people, I believe...
