This photo series I'm sharing with you today is more of an experimental processing exercise, as I wanted to use these photographs to work with them by converting them to pure black and white. But this time I went a little further than usual, moving beyond my typical method of starting with the RAW image, converting everything to grayscale, and then working on the brightness color by color. I know that doing it this way gives me greater control over the final result, especially when working with a monochromatic scheme. But today, let's just say I "dared" to make the whites whiter and the blacks blacker. I ended up spending several minutes on each photo, often causing some details to disappear, either in the overexposed whites and/or in the shadows pushed to absolute black. I won't go into detail about the process, as I simply did what I always do when using any software to develop RAW files. The only difference this time was that "going further" without caring at times about the possibility of excessively attacking the gaze or even undermining the basic realism of the photos. My intention today was to achieve that typical "drama" of exaggeration, and I think I succeeded. Obviously, this was a first attempt, but I've developed a taste for it, and I think I'll do future series like this to explore how far I can push the contrasts in some photos. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to find that some of these photos, which I considered a bit "silly," but by working with them this way, I've noticed a significant increase in their eloquence, and that's why I wanted to share them with you here on #Hive today...
ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7
