So Many Tokens... Over the last few weeks, most of us that are currently active on STEEM have seen an influx of tokens coming in via Steem Engine. This has breathed life into many, and new economics and opportunities are emerging. Of course, the land grab has seen all sorts of abuses and sneakiness in parts. But, for the most part, it seems that tribes, and tokenisation of STEEM communities has been well received and is giving many that were not here at the start of STEEM a chance to be around for the formation of new economic systems.

My question to everyone is - which tokens are you buying? It is one thing to believe in a project, post, comment, curate even get involved in discord or whatever. It is a different thing entirely to buy the token. That shows commitment to the project, and investment. It doesn't matter if it is a few STEEM worth of post payouts, funds raised from selling other tokens, or fiat put in to specifically buy those tokens. Any funds used with a buy order in the market shows an investment. I am interested to hear in the comments from as many as possible, which tokens you actually believe in enough to hit the buy button.
What am I buying?
Over the last few weeks, I have bought tokens in several different projects. Some of this was simply to get a starting stake, something to work with. Others were due to price, but a few have firmed up as my favourites, and the ones I will look to focus on for the future. Of course, I'll still pay attention and follow all sorts of projects, and actively participate, but this is just where my current thinking is and where my hard earned is going at the moment.

This project just makes so much sense to me, and is becoming a core holding for my long term focus. Investing in it is like investing in STEEM, but on steroids. You are buying tokens, which are powered up into SP. Then that SP is managed to bring in an income flow. Then that income is diversified into other assets with all token holders benefiting. It is just common sense. SP can produce decent income, reinvest that into other assets and those off-chain or non-steem assets reduce the risk profile of purely holding STEEM.
SPI does require some trust - but most STEEM based projects do to a certain degree. From my research, this is one project and founder I do think is in it for the long haul. Currently, I am in the top 10 HODLers, and I hope to stay there, until a few big investors with deep pockets come along and realise the long term opportunity here.
Any chance I get I am adding to my holding of this, and will continue to do so until all units are sold. They have made the first off-chain investment, a small amount of Bitcoin as a trial run. I think this project will flourish into a true STEEM success story.
LEO - www.steemleo.com
Firstly, as a tribe I think that this has great potential. It has alot of appeal to both STEEMians and outside STEEM, both in the crypto world at large and also mainstream investors. There are so many opportunities that the founders could tap in to to bring new members in, and I am really hoping that this tribe opens pathways for many into crypto and STEEM in time.
What has impressed me most is how quickly they have moved, and how professional the organisation comes across. Token, front-end, miners, staking, token sinks and burns, website development, curation, writing contests all in just a couple of weeks. So much happening, and it just feels to me like the most professional and slick operation. (Purely my personal subjective view)
The thing that has cemented it for me has been the early focus on token burns, with the understanding that having token supply tight should push the supply/demand equation in the dirrection of higher prices. A strong token price can be a self fulfiling prophecy so to speak. The price rises, this attracts the attention of new investors (and hopefully users for the eco-system). This pushes prices up more and the cycle continues.
As part of my investment in LEO, I have also bought so far 27 LEOMM. I'd love to have heaps more, but can only afford to pick these up occasionally.
There are a couple of other tokens I do purchase occasionally, but not to the same focused extent as these two above. Pal of course is a good safe bet, with a big community and strong leadership. I have some GAMER and occasionally add a few more. Not sure where this one will go, so not really recommending it, just noting that I hold and occasionally buy more.
Other tribes I am in earn and curate mode, but not actively buying at this stage. Most notable is Sportstalk. I really love the potential there, but have been selling some of my earnings over the last few weeks. This isn't because I don't like anything going on, I just think the token needs to drop a fair bit more before it finds its true value. Burns are happening, and growth is planned, and I can't wait to see how the project develops, and I will definitely swap into buying mode when the price is right for me. Basically, I have been selling half my earnings and staking the other half. This has given me much of the funds I have diversified into SPI and LEO.
So that's it, for the moment my main goals are to buy as much SPI and LEO as I can, and keep accumulating whatever I can of the other tokens. I'm more interested in what everyone else thinks. Am I wrong? Have I missed something? Is there a project or token I should take a closer look at? Where are you actively investing your earnings? Or is it all overrated and you are not buying any of it?
What tokens are you buying?
