Today, I hit my 1 year anniversary, and so of course, here is my compulsory "Milestone Post". Hopefully, I can keep it entertaining for you, and remind myself why I am so hooked on being here.

Why did I sign up?

This time last year, I was dabbling in some mining - mainly of Monero. I entered crypto, probably a week after the "All Time High". The angle I took from day 1 in crypto was "How can I make an income out of this?" I didn't have money to invest, and knew from previous stock market experience that I was not much of a trader, so I was looking for a source of income. Mining, at the time, seemed like the best way to go.

Without much actual technical skills, I was able to mine a little through minergate.com, and later bought some cloud mining contracts. As the prices of crypto's steadily declined from the A.T.H., this source of income gradually declined as well. While on Minergate's site, someone in the chatroom mentioned STEEM, and it peaked my interest. I did a little research, and signed up for an account. A week or so later, and I actually had that account.

Now What??

First Posts.

I was immediately drawn to the idea behind STEEM, and the community, but had no idea what to write about. Without the many DApps that exist today to prompt posts, I was out of my depth. I had never blogged, and while I spent a lot of time on Facebook back then, didn't really post all that much.

At least my first post was an "introduce yourself" post.

The first post that I made that earned more than a couple of cents was my 11th post. I had found teamaustralia@teamaustralia and this was the first post that received the support from this community. If I hadn't joined #teamaustralia at the time, I definitely would have given up here. Their support and regular up-votes have kept me here, no doubt about it. At the time, I thought I would write about Australian share investments, and tip some companies to look at. I continued this for a while, and thought it may be interesting to look back and see how those tips are going.

This post was the first with the full list of shares that I tipped. All the tips were made in the few weeks prior to that post. Here is a table I made on that post:

The date of that post was 18th June 2018.

2 days ago, the shares I picked were at:

A2M - A2 Milk - tipped at $10.26, now $15.24, gain/loss +48.5%
APT - Afterpay Touch - Tipped at $7.15, now $26.56, gain/loss +271.5%
NXT - Next DC - Tipped at $7.77, now $6.25, gain/loss -19.5%
TGR - Tassal Group - Tipped at $4.05, now at $5.00, gain/loss +23.5%
CGC - Costa Group - Tipped at $7.63, now at $5.31, gain/loss -43.7%
LNK - Link Holdings - Tipped at 7.00, now at $7.71, gain/loss +10.1%
MXC - Mgc Pharmaceuticals - Tipped at $0.071, now at $0.056, gain/loss -21.1%
CSL - CSL - Tipped at $189.26, now at $197.25, gain/loss +4.2%

So, a mixed bag of results since my fearless tips (remember this isn't or wasn't financial advice). One big gain on APT to brag about.

After a while I realised not many people here actually care about Australian stocks, so I stopped posting about it.

What has happened to the price of STEEM?

Well we all know the answer to that:

STEEM was up around $3.00 at the time I joined, now it is around $0.30. 90% drop
Against BTC it was 0.000372, now it is 0.00004969 - Almost as bad at 87% drop.

Is it going to go back up? - I hope so.

Some Stats.
