Mother watched me with all smiles as I slept in my cradle.

She held my hands as I took my first baby steps.

Only her presence gave me confidence to match on.

Her embrace, which I eagerly craved for comfort in her arms, was like gold.

Mother was my first love, the best in my company

She satisfied my needs so that I did not lack or covet

She defended me with all she had, sparing no stone unturned

My pride was in her presence always surrounding me

Life began to draw a line between us

I began to have more friends and colleagues

Mother made certain I threaded the path of the just

She would scold me when I wronged and hug me after

Mother was a mystery to me, for she loved and yet, she scolded

I looked forward to independence, to have a feel of life

I was determined to make her proud of what I would become

Just a little more time Mother, you will be proud of me

My intent was to pile up more wealth to show how made I was

I had come home only to be met with emptiness

Hades had snatched her before I could prove myself

My regret was not loving her with the little I had
