Hi friends, welcome to my blog. The last training session with a client ended this morning. I'm glad it's over. It was the fifth session on the same topic and it seemed strange to me to distribute it as I just can’t run the same things. Although not issued most of the time, there were several client-side support agents. A woman was present for the five parts of the session.
It's not like going on a dug date with someone. Then the dug date repeats the groundhog day style without any improvement. Although it improved that way, as I try to learn more about customer solutions. I was able to answer the questions I couldn't ask in the first session. It made the rhythm better as we walked.
I further confirmed that I went to the session at the beginning of 15 minutes and requested the client support team to get there as well. If we need to discuss something or have a technical account.
Building relationships with key clients is an important part of my approach. Because it creates a relationship
We can both benefit from and lean on each other. It also means that, during sessions, I have a tendency to make loose picks. In remote sessions, for example, they will actively monitor and answer the chat feed, where participants will ask their questions. There are 30 to 50 participants. So not everyone has an effective alternative to using their mic and the flow breaks down too much.
When delivering remotely, one of the strategies is not to over-deliver. Try and don’t cramp too much in the session and leave a fair amount if possible. Due to the medium, the extra information in the delivery leaves the person feeling lost. Because they don’t just have to be seen and followed. Some people think that it is a value addition to make it more inclusive. But in general - it's just messy.
I think someone tries to make it look like a seat-back-and-watch deal. It's like watching a show. But the intended result is actually quite different. A show or movie is designed for entertainment to provide a wealth of information through audio and visuals.
However, it is not necessary to retain information. When people come out of the movies. Then what they actually remember is much less than inclusive.
If you ever need to create something relatively technical from a DIY YouTube video. But you will probably find that you need to pause and start, rewind, and review what you have seen.
You just have to be more discriminating with the help you render toward other people. In the case of complex aspects, you will pause and probably do this step before proceeding. This is not possible in a webinar with 50 people.
So the delivery needs to be engineered to keep the points wet and repeat on the original points. Which gives the listener a similar experience as if they have control over the playback.
The funny thing I noticed is that when it bothers a lot of people.they can actually learn and if I move faster like a song. But not only do they learn a lot, they also don't rate the movie very well.
You know, like people who couldn’t follow any plot. Inception-liked it. People hate what they don't understand. Which, of course, made the video an overnight sensation.
My goal is to make it very easy for people to say that I know then that I have delivered well. Because I know what I deliver each time and what needs to be covered. If it is very easy, it means they have learned it well enough. The ability to recover will be even greater. When people find the content very challenging. Then I knew I was confused. However, this is not often the case with my work. It only happens when it happens. Because I was going to provide enough of that content.
What I didn’t know was that it just couldn’t explain enough.
I love webinar delivery and I am usually pretty good at it. Because I don’t try to showcase what I know about the product. I focus on what they need to learn. However, what I include is tips and tricks with little user support. Which makes their lives easier and makes them feel better. They are not getting information like others.
I included ten points that I wanted them to know. There were two separate ones with each group. There were two reasons for this. First, the sessions were recorded and the plan was to create key point clips. So all decades have the potential to be included. The second is that the groups were rather random.
They can pick and choose which session they came to. This means that teams usually work together.
They were probably distributed across five distributions and when they were in the office or supported each other. Then they may be able to teach each other the tips. It would be nice to know a little more.
If you want to learn something good, try to teach it to others as soon as possible. When all the people have somewhat different extra information then everyone when they don’t know themselves. Then you can add value at different times without feeling stupid.
people have a wide variety of information, it is much easier to find information to solve challenges.
Such as when someone is not asked how to do it. However retrieval of the same and vocabulary can help to find the answer.
There is an industry to deliver effective training. For the most part how do people provide them or perhaps more importantly why? They don’t think so much about what they are delivering in a certain way. However, I guess it's the same for most Skillsets. Because people act as a habit and almost everyone thinks so.
That they are more than average on what they get. This is where personal feedback comes into play. Pay attention, consider it and change if necessary.
Do not mark it and do not change in favor of the minority. If the majority enjoy what you do.
