Here's the ruleset
Noxious Fumes has the Forgotten One. Earthquake has Brighton Bloom. Fog of War doesn't really have a go to option for must have cards in the lineup but it's easy to forget that Melee attackers in the back line that would be easy auto includes for the Sneak ability lose most of their utility in this ruleset.
My opponen't put together a great lineup overall, but Silent Sha-vi doesn't shine as bright as usual.
Here's my lineup:
Summoner: Obsidian
Obsidian buffs all of my magic attacks.
Tank: Grund
Grund is so great, boasting 6 damage per turn at level 1. The starting health is good and can take a couple of hits, but it's not enough for a tank unless you can soak up a couple of hits with the Slipspawn in the final position.
I don't generally play Grund unless there's a ruleset that allows me to attack from the back line with Grund or if I can benefit from the Slipspawn taunting my opponent.
1st position: Mushroom Seer
Mushroom Seer debuffs my opponent's magic attacks with the Silence ability and is especially strong against the mirror, when your opponent is using an Obsidian lineup.
2nd position: Queen Mycelia
Another great magic attacker and the Protect ability is so powerful.
3rd position: Wood Nymph
Tank heal is fantastic for Grund and even better when I lead with Unicorn Mustang.
4th position: Goblin Psychic
More tank heal and an even bigger attack. Goblin Psychic is an amazing card at level 1 and levels up well too.
5th position (rear tank): Mycelic Slipspawn
Slipspawn is all about the Taunt ability which allows Grund to go to work before getting crushed.
Did my strategy work?
Yes. This is one of my favorite lineups and this battle was fantastic for illustrating several aspects of lineup selection.
Do I like Mycelic Slipspawn?
Yes. The Slipspawn has a nice starting life total and hits hard when given the opportunity.
What will I try differently next time?
Not much. I was very happy with my lineup. It's almost never wrong to place Unicorn Mustang in the Tank position for this type of lineup.
