The max levels that you can play for Bronze league are level 3 commons, level 2 rares, level 2 epics and level 1 legendaries. You don't have to have any of your cards leveled up to earn full rewards in bronze league, but you'll have an advantage against opponents that haven't started combining cards.

If you happen to have any legendary summoners then you can play monsters that are maxed out for bronze. When I talked about going wide with your collections, one of the cards I recommended was Quix the Devious. If you have a copy of Quix then you can pair it with these upgrades. Immortalis and Scarred Llama Mage are some incredible legendary summoners that also give you the chance to play earth monsters that have been maxed out for bronze.

I think these are some of the most impactful earth monsters to start leveling up and several of them happen to be among the least expensive cards in the game.

Mycelic Morphoid

Several of the 1 mana monsters from Chaos Legion pick up great abilities when they're leveled up for bronze. Mycelic Morphoid is a handy throw in when you have an extra mana available. When placed on your back line with the thorns it picks up at level 3, it has the potential to wipe out an opponent's sneak attack monster.

Venari Knifer

When Chaos Legion came on the scene Cursed Windeku became the de facto tank for nearly all death splinter lineups. Venari Knifer has extremely similar stats, but barely made a splash. At level 3 Venari Knifer picks up a 3rd melee damage to go with it's 5th speed.

Hill Giant

At level 3 Hill Giant also picks up an extra melee damage. Hill giant is only getting it's second damage, but does this for just 3 mana. Not to mention that for just 3 mana Hill Giant can frequently soak up 3 or 4 hits while you're doing work with magic attackers from behind.

Goblin Psychic

I'm a huge fan of tank healers, but Goblin Psychic dies so easily at just 3 starting health. If you can get your Psychic leveled up, it will frequently absorb an extra hit which could save your tank and your Psychic for an extra round.

These are all great additions for Modern, but I'll include a 5th card for the consideration of any who are playing in Wild I include this because it's beat me so many times.

Flesh Golem

At level 3 Flesh Golem picks up the heal ability and pairs wonderfully with Scarred Llama Mage For just 13 mana. There's often too much healing for your opponent to overcome.

When picking out new cards to level up, it's important to consider whether you'll be playing in modern or wild format. The first 4 cards that I mentioned in today's post are all legal in modern, but you'll have to face the bots in wild if you want to try Flesh Golem.I expect that pretty much all of my readers will be familiar with most of these cards as the first 4 come from Chaos Legion. If you start to level these cards up remember that they will revert to level 1 if you pair them with a level 1 rare summoner like Drake of Arnak or Mylor Crowling on the battlefield.

I would love to hear what some of your favorite cards are to level up.
