So I was invited by @blackdaisyft to partake in this #ttt shabang, spearheaded by
@ablaze. It's actually Wed but it don't matter!
My three selections are from the blues genre. The definition of blues, as spoken very succinctly Adam Gussow of the Modern Blues Harmonica youtube channel:
"Blues is laughter that keeps from crying."
Let me hit you with three classics...
Sensual, rhythmic; this is what love feels like in the World of Blues, when fires spark and emotions run wild. John Lee Hooker has such a good talking-blues voice (a style of Blues he made popular). He is one of my favourite Blues Men...
The magnificent BB King and his often overlooked piece, Lucile, which is also the name of his guitar. In this piece, BB shares his life with you as a musician, as a bluesman, his guitar Lucile. This here is some beautiful music they don't make no more.
From the Queen of the Blues herself, Etta James! This song is from her "Blues to the Bone" album, and i gotta say this entire album is one of the all-time best blues recordings ever. Superb arrangements, incomparable performances by the sidemen (I mean just listen to that growling baritone guitar)and Etta's timeless voice. Traditional 12 bar blues at it's finest.
Fuck it, i love the blues so much i'm gonna hit ya with two more favourites lol:
