"Born to be wild" is a song written by Mars Bonfire, which made the California-based band Steppenwolf famous.
It is often used by popular culture to portray the rebellious attitude of road bikers. It was described by some as the first "heavy" rock song of the late sixties although it is still disputed which song pioneered that popular music style.

The song was first recorded in 1968 on Steppenwolf's homonymous album. It quickly became the band's number one hit, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 days after its release.
It was also included in many compilation albums and soundtracks. The first one was for the movie Easy Rider (1969). Unlike the album version, the song contains sounds of motorcycles in the introduction. The video we have posted contains images from this movie. From then on, "Born to be Wild" is the song that is most associated with motorcycles.
Put on your helmets and enjoy this song and better if you listen to it while watching the road!
