MotoGP 2018 is finally here!
The excitement is building as we await the start of the first race in 2018. Here are some things I took away from the FP3 session
Marc Marquez
Marc is always fast. He was fastest for over half the session but didn't seem his usual self. He was riding on the edge, as he usually does but it seemed like something was missing with the bike setup. I still think he will be strong and possibly top 3 in qualifying and the race.
Dovi
Andrea looked so smooth throughout the session and came out on top spot. Every year he seems to become more confident while maintaining his modesty. I think it will be hard for anybody to catch him on Sunday.
Pedrosa
Pedrosa was mid field most of the session and then put a good time in on the last 2 or 3 laps. He is always consistently around 3rd or 4th. I cannot see him taking the win because the Ducatis look so strong.
Petrucci
What a start to 2018 for Petrucci. He was the fastest satellite rider grabbing second fastest in FP3. One thing you will notice is how much weight he has lost over pre season. He means business and I wouldn't put a podium past him on Sunday!
Crutchlow
Crutchlow is another rider who has lost lots of weight over the winter testing period. He was top 10 in FP3. As long as he stays on he bike he should have a good result. Lets hope his weight loss has not cost him too much of his strength
Rossi
The GOAT didn't put on much of a show. As usual over the last few years he seems to be off the pace compared to his former championship winning self. I hope he can find some pace for race day.
Vinalez
This time last year Vinalez was topped to be the favourite for the championship. Look how things have changed now. It was a poor performance from him and whatever was causing him issues last year seems to still be present now.
Zarco
I really hoped Zarco would be up there in this session. Last year he shot to 1st place on the opening lap but I cannot see this happening again. I think his bike setup needs some work.
Luthi
A great start for the rookie. He looked smooth and lets hope he can make the top 10 on Sunday.
