Hi guys, I'm not used to this kinds of posts but I keep myself updated in EU funding opportunities, given that I live in Italy and I wanna share with this hive community something very interesting I recently found out.

This is the first EU call for blockchain projects and it sounds very interesting to me because it's not centered on DeFi and financial projects, it aims to build a better and open internet using post blockchain technologies like hive.

I'll list here the main points of the call and the project that already exist in your directory and could be eligible for this call.

Deadline for submissions: 1st of February 2021 - 12:00 PM CET (Brussels time)

Trust is the basis for social value and self-organisation, but technical assurances are what help make it trustworthy. The EU is looking for blockchain solutions to build the basic block of this assurances.

Main points of the call

Quantum-proof cryptography
Public key infrastructure
Authenticated key exchange
Ratchet mechanisms (such as the Noise protocol) that securely chain key material
Distributed hash tables and DAGs to make P2P interaction more secure
Conflict-free replicated data types
Mixnets and onion routing mechanisms
Consensus protocols
Distributed ledgers and (post) blockchain technologies that create redundant data sets managed independently by mutually distrustful parties
A priori usage control
Symbolic and formal proofs, and tamperproof open hardware implementations of core cryptographic primitives

We are looking for deep tech components; the outcomes of NGI Assure shall contribute towards identifying and solving current issues, but do not need to provide a complete solution by themselves. NGI Assure enables collaboration among humans without unjustified trust.

We are looking for new ideas and core technologies that help society tackle hard but very very important questions, each of which has significant social and economic consequences.

vuehivesigner would have great chances, as it challenges two of the call's points.
anonrambligs would be eligible as long as it implements some research and development hints to their platform
cXc music would be a great place to start for a project on content
Notable curation tools that would work if implemented are hive rss, hyperion, votefun and tagbot.
Finally the hivebot project is a nice instance of what the call defines as a "block" for providing the tech assurance that bring the blockchain and the internet forwards, to build trust on a new open internet.

I'm just a UX designer, but I know python and php quite well and I'm getting used to Javascript, I would love to help you guys to submit your project to this call and get the funding and mentorship provided by it, here are the benefits:

We are seeking project proposals between 5 000 and 50 000 Euro - with the potential to scale them up if there is proven potential. Instead of just handing over problems we would like to put powerful new solutions in the hands of future generations, as building blocks for a fair and democratic society and an open economy that benefits all.
