Hello! In this article, I will share the style that I am trying right now. I like exploring and learning different art styles.
So this is my character, a blonde high school student. The concept came from different inspirations. I still do not have a name for her.
By the way, this chibi style is one of my favorite styles because it is simple and very kawaii.
My Chibi Character
For the hair, I decided that it will be blonde because this year, I tried to bleach my hair. It is a very tedious thing to bleach your hair. It takes hours and hours to finish bleaching my hair.
It did not burn my scalp, though thankfully. I really like being blonde but it is expensive to maintain it. Also, it is so annoying that after 2 weeks, black hair is already sticking out. I am still undecided if I will just grow my hair until I can cut in a pixie style or dye it with black.
The uniform is a combo of inspiration from Pinterest. I like the combination of brown and red for her uniform. Also, the diamond patch looks very suiting for the character.
The background is pink to complement the color of the hair and uniform.
Lineart
here is the lineart for the character. I need to start learning how to have a clean and confident lines. Maybe because my hand is too shaky. I already used stabilizer for this art, but I guess this is the farthest I can get.
Flat color
For the flat colors, I just copy pasted the colors from the original chibi character. It sucks when you already colored most of the part and then realizing that you colored in a wrong layer. I decided to give her a dark brown eyes.
Shading
The shading part for me is the most time-consuming. I am always going back and forth. I need more practice on this part. Also, part of it is me being lazy haha!
Final art
Last is the details and the background. I added some sparkles to the background.
Tada! I am done with art. I think this is an anime-ish style. my lines are still wanky. I still need to practice more and more.
Next time, I want to try a guy character. :)
