I'm really rooting for the high potential of agriculture here in our country, Philippines.

Rice farming is one of the things that makes our food supply sufficient through out the country. It's one of the hardest jobs out there if you don't know. Effort, money and time will be invested in this one to harvest a kilo of rice grains. Filipinos really loves rice and I can say that we can't normally eat without it. But the reality is just too sad that some of the rice farmers here in the country are not given the necessary benefits that's are meant for them especially the small farmers.

We are a family of rice farmers since the old days during the time of my great great grandfather. With that being said I'm really happy that my family is one of the many farmers here that cultivates the farms and growing those grains which has a great part in our lives as a Filipino.

Planting season is about to begin again here and we will harvest our crops again next year, maybe within the month of March or April. Hoping that there will be no typhoons this time for us to get back the profit we loss. Also we hope for the price per kilo is still good next year.

This saturday, I accompanied my father going to the rice field in order to make the bed for the rice grains or binhis on the farm of my grandfather, mother side. Usually my late grandfather was the companion of my father in doing this one but since he's not here anymore, I took his place already.

So early in the morning we woke up and had our breakfast before we set out to the field. As always I had my coffee and had sweatened sweet potatoes as our viand. I ate a lot since it's a long walk for real.

After we consumed our breakfast, we set out already.

As we passed by the field near our home, we passed by the irrigation here and took a shot of the beautiful mountain. This one shaped like a volcano and I had that thought ever since I saw it when I was a kid but my grandparents said it's not.

They said that it was the mountain they go before to gather firewoods. They will bring down t he pile of it with the help of carabaos. I'm just surprised that they been there already.

We reached the main road and I'm surprised to see that the other farmers are already near to harvest again. This is the perk of having the NIA system as their water supply. They can farm however they like nonstop unless the irrigation will have a clean up. But they usually held it in month of summer.

Look at that long straight road. In the future this one will be concreted they said and I hope so in order for us who live here to have a comfortable road but it will impose a problem also because teenagers here who owned a single motor loves to race at night.

The only problem if you start early is that the rats will have a party consuming those first grains. Some part of the vast area of the rice field above has been already attacked by those rats.

And this one, the whole portion of this farm has been attacked by rats. It's already a huge loss. Rats become pests here especially if you will not farm at the same time.

I took a shot again of the mountain and the view was just so stunning from the road view.

Summer is near again and the indian mangoes or the native ones already in bloom but it's raining this past days and it can threaten the development of the mangoes. Hoping it will not affect it.

We passed by a house within the middle of rice field. It's really in the middle so it's far, you can zoom it in. I can say that their life there is so peaceful.

Finally we arrive at the area and my father started immediately since the time is running and the sky is still cloudy so it's perfect to work. My grandfather also arrived at the area and started to fix the embankment(pilapil).

I only helped my father in transporting the machine to the middle since there are embankment that the machine can't cross with it's own.

When my father was already near to finish the work, the group of birds showed up and started to snatch their prey within the field.

They didn't land and just get it while flying. What a control of their wings. I tried to take a shot but my camera is not that good so that's the outcome above.

My father finally finished it and he just rest for about 20 minutes then we went home. Before finally going to the road I just stop by at the nearby field which is closer to the house that I mentioned and here it is. You can see the sunset by the mountain at the west and you can see clearly the sunrise at the east if you live there.

After that we went home already and that concludes how my saturday went.

Thank you for reading my friends.
