These are some of the highlights from the lessons learnt during the Bible exposition that took place in Zoom on the 26th of July 2021.
During the service, a brother asked about couples and their afterlife; “if couples would be able to be with each other after death”.
From my understanding of what brother Eli said, yes they would see each other but on the condition that they must both make heaven. Because it says in the bible that when God comes there would be a gathering.
2 Thessalonians 2:1 Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters,
But a point to remember is that there is no marriage. But we would recognize each other, Just like in the transfiguration, the disciples recognized moses and Elisha even when they haven’t seen them physically.
Matthew 17:4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”
Furthermore, in a case where a woman gets married to another man in the case of death of her partner. Who then would be with the woman? The first man or the second one? So there is no marriage according to our Lord Jesus Christ in
Matthew 22:23-30 The same day sSadducees came to him, twho say that there is no resurrection, and they asked him a question, 24 saying, “Teacher, Moses said, u‘If a man dies having no children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother.’ 25 Now there were seven brothers among us. The first married and died, and having no offspring left his wife to his brother. 26 So too the second and third, down to the seventh. 27 After them all, the woman died. 28 In the resurrection, therefore, of the seven, whose wife will she be? For they all had her.”
29 But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, vbecause you know neither the Scriptures nor wthe power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither xmarry nor xare given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
A brother asked if God accepts gay and lesbian and the question of many beliefs in our time.
I learnt from the scriptures that God does not discriminate, if you fear Him and keep His commandments He’ll love you regardless of who you are. But the catch here is to fear Him.
Acts 10:34-35 Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism(A) 35 but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.
Fearing God is the criteria to gain His love.
Ecclesiastics 12:13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
Thanks for reading through and stay blessed.
