There are lots of lessons to be learnt from each Bible Exposition, this one is no different. During the service, A sister asked a question to brother Eli saying “We know there are unpardonable sins if we willingly commit them, but if they are committed due to the situation of things, is there still hope for forgiveness?”
Brother Eli went on to explain that, it is different when we are been tempted, when we are been tempted it’s an popular for us to grow our faith in God, but if you give in to temptation, there is no hope for you. Hebrew 10:26-27 If we deliberately keep on sinning(A) after we have received the knowledge of the truth,(B) no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire(C) that will consume the enemies of God.
But if the sin is been committed as a result of uncontrollable circumstances, then there is still hope for forgiveness, Brother Eli gave several examples from the Likes of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus, this was as a result of the situation in which he found himself in. He was forgiven. The same thing also happened to Peter when he denied Jesus Christ. It was also a result of the situation he found himself and was also forgiven Matthew 26:69-70 Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. “You also were with Jesus of Galilee,” she said.
70 But he denied it before them all. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said.
71 Then he went out to the gateway, where another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
72 He denied it again, with an oath: “I don’t know the man!”
73 After a little while, those standing there went up to Peter and said, “Surely you are one of them; your accent gives you away.”
74 Then he began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know the man!”
Immediately a rooster crowed.
75 Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: “Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”(B) And he went outside and wept bitterly.
You can see from this verse that peter regretted his actions and immediately broke down in tears after realizing what had happened.
A brother also asked why is it that how is it that our lord Jesus Christ remains the same, yesterday, today and forever. From my opinion, God remains the same because His teachings and ways does not change, there may be People who always try to modernize christianity and change certain things but we should always remember that our God Would not bring Himself down to our level. We are the ones to rise to the standard and doctrine of God which is Truth.
Thanks for reading through, have a blessed week
