I am just unlucky on that ring as I have opened the grand chest 434 times. The chance of at least one ring would be 88%, and every chest onwards is still that 1/200 chance.

As for tears, I think it does. It's about 17k xp every week and tears is only takes around 6 minutes to finish. It's more XP/hour compared to Sepulchre and a change of pace.
